Job Requirements

  • must be able to work standing for long periods of time
  • passionate for great coffee, food, and great customer service
  • must be able to multitask
  • must be able to create latte art within the training period
  • must be able to dial-in espresso as needed
  • has basic knife skills to prep garnishes
  • at least 1 year of experience in specialty coffee is ideal
  • valid food handlers certification

Job Duties

  • understands the GAB mission statement and can execute
  • welcomes guests using the 10-4 rule
  • adheres to dress code standards
  • educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu
  • prepares and sells beverages by following prescribed recipes, preparation techniques and standards
  • notifies lead barista of low inventory
  • fully stocks and maintains products using FIFO to ensure product freshness
  • follows and improves opening, closing, and other procedural checklists
  • keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions
  • recognizes, acknowledges, and communicates errors and potential quality problems
  • maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations
  • updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
  • enhances coffee shop reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests
  • explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • knowledge of FOH menus including bar, food, bakery
  • knows how to work all FOH stations
  • is flexible in scheduling in FOH
  • helps out in FOH if needed
