Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous barista or relevant hospitality experience preferred
  • Ability to lift minimum of 20lbs
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow food safety procedures
  • Customer service orientation and friendly demeanor
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar role is preferred but training is provided
  • A deep appreciation for coffee and a strong knowledge of different coffee beans, roasts, and brewing techniques
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere
  • Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and prioritize effectively
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in beverage quality and presentation
  • Flexibility in working hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in the hospitality industry

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve a range of coffee beverages including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and specialty drinks while maintaining consistent taste and presentation standards
  • Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner providing exceptional customer service at all times
  • Take customer orders accurately and efficiently handle cash transactions or operate the POS system
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace including coffee preparation areas, equipment, coffee condiment stations, and dining areas
  • Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure safety and well-being of customers and colleagues
  • Stay up to date with coffee industry trends including new blends, brewing methods, and flavor profiles and make recommendations to customers
  • Assist in restocking inventory, tracking supplies, and placing orders as needed
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and contribute to a positive work environment
  • Uphold company policies and procedures including adhering to work schedules, dress code, and attendance guidelines
  • Ensure all perishable items used behind the bar are labeled, dated and responsible for rotating and disposing to maintain quality control
  • Portray a positive, friendly and professional attitude at all times, always smiling and greeting guests warmly and genuinely
  • Provide prompt, professional, friendly, and personalized service to guests
  • Perform opening side work and set up station
  • Attend and participate in training sessions and department meetings
  • Listen to guests and anticipate their needs
