Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • No minimum experience required
  • Ability to operate espresso machine
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Ability to maintain physical demands of heavy work
  • Ability to work rotating shifts
  • Commitment to customer service excellence
  • Adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Retail experience is a plus
  • Barista experience is beneficial but not required

Job Duties

  • Maintain department facilities and equipment to promote efficiency, health, comfort, and safety of patients and staff
  • Assist in training of volunteer staff
  • Ensure outstanding customer service by greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining standards, and demonstrating product knowledge
  • Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise, participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock, and maintain stock levels and displays
  • Adhere to departmental policies including pricing and loss prevention
  • Perform accurate and efficient sales transactions and maintain cash accountabilities
  • Communicate customer requests to management
  • Provide assistance with line monitoring, merchandise sacking, floor security, and related floor duties
  • Answer telephones and handle routine customer inquiries
  • Prepare daily reports such as sales, inventory logs, orders, credit card receipts, and bank deposits
  • Operate cash register and prepare reconciliation reports
  • Create product displays as needed
  • Open and close retail unit as assigned
  • Operate espresso machine with skill and efficiency
  • Assist with care and maintenance of equipment and supplies
  • Coordinate work activities with co-workers to improve job efficiency
