Job Requirements

  • One year of prior barista experience is required
  • ability to work full time or part time Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3 pm
  • reliable and punctual
  • capable of standing for extended periods
  • willingness to adhere to food safety and hygiene standards
  • ability to perform duties in an educational facility
  • ability to handle cash and POS transactions
  • must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • One year of prior barista experience
  • ability to interact in a friendly and courteous manner
  • knowledge of standard espresso and coffee preparation
  • understanding of HACCP guidelines
  • capability to operate POS systems accurately
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • strong customer service orientation

Job Duties

  • Prepares espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes
  • enters orders accurately into POS device
  • accepts cash and charge payments
  • replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service area
  • ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
  • follows HACCP standards
  • maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils
  • ensures proper food preparation by using approved recipes and following prescribed production standards
  • keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service
  • cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving for other assignments
  • greets customers courteously and interacts in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction
  • relays relevant concerns from customers to supervisors
  • serves customers quickly and efficiently, preventing delays
  • demonstrates a complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to customers
  • advocates selling techniques by establishing communication and assisting in customer buying decisions
  • ensures all display foods are merchandised attractively and served neatly
  • performs other duties as assigned
