Job Qualifications
- No formal education required
- Typically requires 1 year of experience in a hospital or hotel/restaurant food service environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers
- Knowledge of food preparation and safe handling techniques gained through training or courses
- Ability to obtain and maintain barista certification
Job Duties
- Greet all customers by providing quick, friendly and personal service
- Sell and serve baked goods and food items to customers
- Process transactions through the POS and provide change
- Maintain standards for product preparation following licensed recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain espresso equipment according to manufacturer and sanitation standards
- Maintain a calm demeanor during high volume periods and set a positive example
- Communicate with staff and management to solve problems and improve quality and service
- Assist with new barista training by reinforcing successful performance
- Monitor and record temperatures of food items and equipment
- Prepare inventory and requisition daily supplies
- Follow operational policies for safe food handling and sanitation
- Perform sanitation duties to ensure a safe work environment
- Maintain proper production, safety and sanitation standards
