Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to read and write
- Restaurant or food service operations experience preferred
- Ability to pass barista training within 2 months of hire
- Ability to use café equipment including coffee grinder, coffee brewers, blender and convection oven
- Knowledge of food safety codes and regulatory standards
- Ability to handle cash and operate cash register
- Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in food preparation and serving areas
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Ability to use related equipment such as cappuccino machine, coffee grinder, coffee brewers, blender and convection oven
- Responsible for opening and closing duties
- Demonstrates cash register operation and money handling procedures
- Prepare hot and cold food production for retail sales
- Set up café sales by stocking food and paper products
- Practice food safety codes and governing standards according to federal, state, local and accreditation agencies
- Check and document food temperatures frequently during shift, notify Supervisor of any noncompliance
- Monitor and document temperatures of freezers, refrigeration, and heating units, notify Supervisor of deviations
- Maintain refrigeration units in clean orderly condition compliant with food codes and regulatory agencies
- Requisition and transport foods and supplies to replenish inventory
- Inspect items for integrity, rotate stock, dispose of outdated or low-quality products
- Properly wrap, label, and date food items
- Prepare coffee, juice and smoothies, replenish and clean beverage dispensing machines and areas
- Maintain clean and sanitary work area including coffee serving and seating areas, equipment, storage, countertops, cupboards, tile, microwaves, tables, chairs and tray returns
- Clean and sanitize utensils and equipment
- Maintain signage daily
- Follow proper cleaning techniques, store chemicals properly, follow MSDS rules, label products appropriately, use chemicals according to directions and PPE as needed
- Practice safety procedures using tools, equipment and protective equipment and inform Supervisor of hazards or equipment failures
- Demonstrate knowledge of effective customer service skills and performance improvement
- Use standardized and non-standardized recipes and ingredients to prepare foods
- Assist in other areas as requested
- Must be able to pass barista training within 2 months of hire
