Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 to 6 months related experience
  • Valid Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TN ABC) card
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Ability to handle money and make change
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Must be able to walk, climb stairs
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch
  • Must use hands to reach, grasp, handle, pull and push
  • Must have good near and far vision
  • Must be able to hear, talk, smell
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for up to 5 hours and a total of 7 hours in an 8 hour shift
  • Ability to work indoors or outdoors in a moderate noise environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TN ABC) cards are required
  • Knowledge of the basic functions of food and beverage operations
  • Working knowledge of acceptable standards of sanitation and proper chemical usage
  • Ability to perform basic math skills
  • Ability to handle money and make correct change
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Knowledge, understanding, and compliance of policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructions

Job Duties

  • Become familiar with all menu items and general hotel information
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests and ensure correct and prompt delivery of orders
  • Observe guests to respond if additional service is required
  • Use the automated point of service (POS) system to process orders
  • Clear, clean, reset, and maintain station during shift
  • Follow all proper cash, credit card, and room charge procedures
  • Follow all proper check control procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • The employee may be expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations to perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description
  • Maintain a safe work environment for co-workers and a safe hotel for guests
