Job Requirements
- Current Utah Food Handler Permit or Food Protection Manager certification accredited by ANSI
- Ability to stand and walk for sustained periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work flexible hours including variable schedule
- Ability to complete Barista certification within required timeframe
- Basic communication skills
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to perform physical demands including carrying, climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, speaking, standing, stooping, crouching, tasting or smelling, walking
Job Qualifications
- Entry-level position
- Current Food Handlers work permit within one month of hire
- Successful completion of Barista training within one month of hire
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job
- Basic math and cash register skills
- Communication and human relations skills
- Ability to handle customer service, cash handling, and stocking with minimal supervision
Job Duties
- Serve as a representative of University of Utah Health and Starbucks Corporation, providing the best beverage experience possible
- Ensure beverages are made to Starbucks standards and customer specifications
- Process cash, credit card payments or phone payments and provide accurate change
- Adhere to strict guidelines for product date tagging, rotating and cleaning of work area
- Display and sell bottled beverages, sandwiches and snacks appropriately
- Restock and clean work area
