Job Requirements

  • prior experience in foodservice or hospitality preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet customers
  • take orders
  • mix and serve hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, cafe latte, tea, chai, fruit blend drinks, etc., while considering customer specifications
  • maintain good customer relations and speedy delivery of all beverages and food items
  • arrange coffee bar/cart supplies and cups/mugs to make attractive displays
  • maintain bar/cart area in a neat and sanitary manner
  • clean coffee machines, restaurant areas, restrooms and preparation areas
  • record all sales, collect money, operate a cash register and follow cash-handling procedures
  • sell food items
  • operate cash/credit card/electronic payment register
  • comply with all sanitation/safety policies and procedures
  • report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner
  • comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures
  • participate in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments
  • attend training programs as designated by unit manager
  • maintain inventory, stock and requisitions
  • perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • be friendly, courteous, smile, and portray a positive attitude at all times
  • notify manager immediately with any customer complaints or issues
  • use safe food handling procedures at all times
  • follow Serv-Safe requirements
  • adhere to SFM personal appearance policy including handwashing, personal hygiene, clean uniform, fingernails short and clean, no polish, no loose hanging jewelry, and change gloves often when switching tasks
  • read, understand and follow SFM's Employee Handbook
  • wear clean uniform including top, pants, hat or hairnet, apron and nametag at all times when in the workplace
