The role of a Bakery Cashier at Village Bakery is a dynamic and customer-centered position essential to the daily operations of the bakery. This full-time employment opportunity requires a dedicated individual to greet, assist, and express gratitude to customers promptly, courteously, and professionally. Job Requirements
- Ability to communicate with the public, hotel staff and management in a professional manner
- Computer and phone literacy required
- Must have the ability to bend, squat and frequently lift 25 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks as needed
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications

- Keep supplies filled and maintained
- Assist customers in locating items or identifying the correct price
- Clean up spills and maintain proper sanitation
- Assist in training new cashiers
- Must have the ability to bend, squat and frequently lift 25 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks as needed
- A high school diploma is a plus
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Greet, assist and thank all customers in a prompt, courteous, friendly and business-like manner
- Check product quality to ensure freshness
- Review sell by dates and take appropriate action
- Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
- Build attractive displays and stock shelves
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained
- Record all items at correct prices in their correct departments quickly and efficiently
- Identify potential problems, take action and proactively communicate ideas for possible solutions to managers
- Understand the importance of meeting store goals and hold self-accountable for understanding and achieving business measures
- Account for proper recording of sales and money collected
- Maintain acceptable cash over/short record
- View the store through the lens of the customer and proactively gather and share customer feedback
- Count back change for each customer transaction
- Participate in bagging customer orders properly after cash transaction
- Check register for product to ensure nothing is left behind
