Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in food and beverage service preferred
- ability to stand for extended periods
- strong customer service skills
- ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
- physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- availability to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- basic coffee knowledge such as how to prepare common coffee beverages
- excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- strong teamwork abilities
- attention to detail
- ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, transport up to 50 lbs
- ability to move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 50 lbs
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences
Job Duties
- Greeting customers in a friendly manner
- taking food and drink orders
- preparing and serving beverages such as drip coffee, espresso based drinks, tea and other specialty drinks
- preparing and serving food items such as soups, sandwiches and pastries
- answering guest's questions about menu choices
- promoting and recommending menu options to guests
- processing payments such as cash, room charge and credit card
- ordering and stocking inventory such as coffee beans, milk, napkins, snacks, to go cups, etc.
- maintaining espresso machines, grinders, coffee machines and other equipment by cleaning and troubleshooting
- keeping the work environment area clean, sanitary and organized
- responding to and resolving customer concerns or complaints
- comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
- perform any other job-related duties as assigned
