Job Requirements

high school diploma or equivalent
prior experience in food and beverage service preferred
ability to stand for extended periods
strong customer service skills
ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs
availability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

basic coffee knowledge such as how to prepare common coffee beverages
excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
strong teamwork abilities
attention to detail
ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, transport up to 50 lbs
ability to move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 50 lbs
effective verbal and written communication skills
ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences

Job Duties

Greeting customers in a friendly manner
taking food and drink orders
preparing and serving beverages such as drip coffee, espresso based drinks, tea and other specialty drinks
preparing and serving food items such as soups, sandwiches and pastries
answering guest's questions about menu choices
promoting and recommending menu options to guests
processing payments such as cash, room charge and credit card
ordering and stocking inventory such as coffee beans, milk, napkins, snacks, to go cups, etc.
maintaining espresso machines, grinders, coffee machines and other equipment by cleaning and troubleshooting
keeping the work environment area clean, sanitary and organized
responding to and resolving customer concerns or complaints
comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
perform any other job-related duties as assigned
