Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ABC cards are required
  • ability to perform basic math skills
  • ability to handle money and make correct change
  • ability to communicate effectively
  • ability to read, write, and understand English
  • must be able to walk, climb stairs
  • must be able to bend, stoop, crouch
  • must use hands to reach, grasp, handle, pull and push
  • must have good near and far vision
  • must be able to hear, talk, smell
  • must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • must be able to stand and walk for up to 5 hours and a total of 7 hours in an 8 hour shift

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ABC cards are required
  • knowledge of the basic functions of food and beverage operations
  • working knowledge of acceptable standards of sanitation and proper chemical usage
  • ability to perform basic math skills
  • ability to handle money and make correct change
  • ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff
  • ability to read, write, and understand English
  • knowledge, understanding, and compliance of policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructions

Job Duties

  • Become familiar with all menu items and general hotel information
  • take food and beverage orders from guests and ensure correct and prompt delivery of orders
  • observe guests to respond if additional service is required
  • use the automated point of service (POS) system to process orders
  • clear, clean, reset, and maintain station during shift
  • follow all proper cash, credit card, and room charge procedures
  • follow all proper check control procedures
  • perform other related duties as assigned
  • maintain a safe work environment for co-workers and a safe hotel for guests
