Job Requirements

  • At least 6 months to 1 year of barista experience preparing specialty coffee
  • Serving and/or bartending experience in a hospitality setting strongly preferred
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with both guests and colleagues
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stretch, and work in varied environments
  • Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and some holidays
  • Must meet minimum age requirements for alcohol service in Louisiana

Job Duties

  • Consistently and expediently prepare and serve espresso drinks, pour-overs, teas, cold brew, and other specialty beverages
  • Dial in espresso machines, refine latte art techniques, and maintain beverage consistency
  • Prepare and serve beer, wine, and cocktails in accordance with Common House standards
  • Maintain solid knowledge of specialty and classic cocktail recipes, beer, and wine offerings
  • Follow proper alcohol service protocols in compliance with local and state regulations
  • Provide warm, welcoming, and personalized service to members and guests
  • Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, and ensure satisfaction throughout their visit
  • Maintain knowledge of menus, including coffee, food, cocktails, allergens, and sourcing details
  • Follow the steps of service across cafe, dining, and bar settings
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally and courteously
  • Operate POS system, handle transactions, and process payments
  • Set up and break down workstations, side stations, and bar mise en place
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the cafe, bar, and service areas
  • Restock inventory, replenish wares, and report any shortages or maintenance needs
  • Follow all opening, mid-shift, and closing checklists
  • Support team members across the cafe, dining room, and bar as needed
  • Adhere to all health, safety, sanitation, and food hygiene requirements
  • Comply with liquor license regulations and enforce them as required
  • Use all cleaning products and chemicals in accordance with OSHA standards
  • Maintain professional appearance and demeanor in line with company standards
