Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one plus years of experience as a barback in a high volume, upscale hotel or free standing lounge environments
  • ability to stand, stoop, bend and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds repetitively during entire shift
  • certifications including certified food service manager and TIPS or equivalent
  • ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • ability to speak, read and write English
  • ability to perform physical and mental effort requirements as specified by the employer

Job Duties

  • Provides support to bartender and beverage server in all aspects of service by stocking all service areas and maintaining adequate supplies throughout the shift
  • participates in monthly inventory
  • stocks and maintains supplies in all service areas
  • inspects and prepares all service ware prior to use
  • assists server by removing soiled glasses and plates during heavy volume
  • cleans and stocks glassware
  • maintains cleanliness and sanitary condition of lounge and service areas
  • assists in completion of post shift clean up and side work duties
  • maintains clean and organized storage space
  • attends all training sessions and meetings
  • monitors guest consumption to prevent over indulgence
  • inventories all beverages and operating supplies
  • performs all closing duties and secures all inventory
  • records all aspects of guest orders accurately
  • interacts daily with captains to review events of the day
  • prepares mixers and garnishes as needed prior and during service
  • sets up bar service areas with all necessary glassware and supplies prior to service
  • promotes teamwork skills at all times
  • greets guests politely and professionally according to Loews standards
  • suggests beverage options to enhance guest experience
  • breaks down equipment and returns stock to storage
  • performs other duties as assigned by supervisors or managers
  • remains current with hotel information and changes
  • complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards
