Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year progressive experience in hotel or related field
  • Ability to stand for entire shift
  • Physical strength to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Flexibility to work long and variable hours
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and guests
  • Maintain proper uniform and grooming standards
  • Willingness to cross-train in different hotel areas

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Communicate effectively with employees and guests in a friendly and service-oriented manner
  • Listen to and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests
  • Multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance, including wearing proper uniform and nametag
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions
  • Handle problems by anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving them
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Show initiative by anticipating guest or operational needs
  • Perform assigned duties such as receiving liquor, beer, and wine from storeroom
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar, refrigerators, and service areas
  • Replenish liquor, beer, and wine during shifts
  • Demonstrate knowledge of beverages, cocktails, and portion control
  • Assist in opening and closing side-work
  • Maintain beverage cost control
  • Follow procedures for responsible alcohol service
  • Deliver food items according to service standards
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
  • Attend all required hotel meetings and trainings
  • Maintain regular attendance per scheduling requirements.
