Job Requirements

  • Passion for people, place and culture of the community
  • Minimum one year experience as a Barback in a restaurant or bar
  • TIPS alcohol service certification preferred
  • Must meet local age requirements to serve alcohol
  • Available to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Fluency in English verbally and non-verbally
  • Ability to lift, balance and carry up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to lift, balance and carry with assistance up to 100 lbs
  • Continuous standing and walking
  • Ability to negotiate wet tile floors and steps
  • Fine motor coordination for pouring beverages and decorating cocktails
  • Standing and walking throughout the entire shift
  • Negotiating varied floor surfaces continuously
  • Occasional carrying over shoulder
  • Hand and elbow movements for polishing and mixing drinks
  • Excellent sight and balance
  • Ability to handle lighted candles and hot fluids
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures like freezers and kitchens occasionally

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Barback in a standalone or hotel restaurant or bar
  • TIPS alcohol service certification preferred
  • Passion for hospitality and local culture
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Understanding of alcohol safety and service regulations

Job Duties

  • Uphold and model the company’s principles of People, Place and Character
  • Assist in all aspects of the F+B guest’s experience by extending a friendly greeting, stocking bar products and supplies, and executing requests timely
  • Work in an organized and clean fashion including stocking the bar, racking kegs, filling ice bins, cutting garnishes, preparing juices, syrups and bases
  • Use steps of service to provide professional service and exceed guest expectations, ensuring alcohol is served safely, responsibly, and legally
  • Use good judgement when extending goodwill and demonstrate urgency to provide an amazing guest experience
  • Understand basic culinary terms and continually study to improve craft
  • Participate in daily line ups and quarterly meetings to develop ideas and provide feedback
  • Observe conditions of physical facilities and report challenges
  • Communicate effectively with F+B and Culinary teams to ensure timely delivery of food
  • Assist in other areas of the F+B Department as needed
