Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One plus years of experience as a Barback in a high volume, upscale hotel or free standing lounge environments
- Basic knowledge of wine and spirits and food
- Certified Food Service Manager, TIPS, or equivalent
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend and lift items weighting up to 50 pounds repetitively during entire shift
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Assure all bars are kept in proper working conditions
- Provide all supplies needed for bar prior and during functions and events as per Beverage Supervisor and Captain request
- Restock beverages after all functions
- Assist with consumption reports
- Assist with monthly beverage inventory and organization of beverage storeroom
- Provide support to Bartender and Beverage Server in all service aspects by stocking all service areas and maintaining adequate supplies
- Clean and stock glassware
- Assist with beverage service
- Transport food trays to/from dining room
- Assist with cleaning all public areas
- Participate in monthly inventory
- Stock and maintain supplies in all service areas
- Inspect and prepare all service ware prior to use
- Assist Server by removing soiled glasses and plates during large parties and busy periods
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitary condition of lounge and service areas
- Assist in completion of post shift clean up and side work duties
- Maintain clean and organized storage space
- Attend all training sessions and meetings
- Work varying schedules to reflect business needs
- Promote and apply teamwork skills
- Notify appropriate individual promptly of problems
- Maintain polite, friendly and helpful attitude toward guests, management and employees
- Greet guests politely and professionally
- Suggestively up-sell beverages to enhance guest experience
- Monitor guest consumption to prevent over indulgence
- Inventory all beverages and supplies and order replacement items as needed
- Perform all closing duties and secure inventory and supplies
- Remain current with hotel information and changes
- Comply with hotel uniform and grooming standards
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by supervisors/managers
