Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one plus years of experience as a Barback in high volume, upscale hotel or free standing lounge environments
  • ability to stand, stoop, bend and lift items weighting up to 50 pounds repetitively during entire shift
  • ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • certifications such as Certified Food Service Manager, TIPS or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Assure that all bars are kept in proper working conditions
  • provide all supplies needed for bar prior and during functions and events as requested
  • restock beverages after functions
  • support bartenders and beverage servers by stocking service areas and maintaining supplies
  • clean and stock glassware
  • assist with service of beverages
  • transport food trays to and from dining room
  • clean public areas
  • participate in monthly inventory
  • stock and maintain supplies in service areas
  • inspect and prepare service ware prior to use
  • assist servers by removing soiled glasses and plates during heavy volume
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitary condition of lounge and service areas
  • assist in post-shift cleanup and side work
  • maintain organized storage space
  • attend training sessions and meetings
  • monitor guest consumption and ensure safety
  • prepare mixers and garnishes prior to service
  • set up bar service area with glassware and supplies
  • greet guests politely and professionally
  • suggestively up-sell beverages to enhance guest experience
  • break down equipment and return stock to storage
  • perform closing duties and secure inventory
  • notify supervisors promptly of any issues
  • comply with hotel uniform and grooming standards
