Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
prior barback experience preferred
basic math skills
manual dexterity
knowledge of English
ability to work in confined spaces
ability to perform duties in temperature ranges from normal to refrigerated
ability to grasp, lift, and carry up to 75 pounds
ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
ability to work full 8-hour shifts standing and walking
must obtain RBS certification within 30 days if applicable
must obtain California Food Handler Card within 30 days if applicable

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
prior barback or related experience preferred
knowledge of alcoholic beverage preparation and service
basic math skills for measuring portions
manual dexterity to handle glassware and equipment
effective communication skills in English
ability to work in confined spaces and varying temperatures
ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays
responsible beverage service (RBS) certification within 30 days if applicable
California Food Handler Card within 30 days if applicable

Job Duties

Retrieves orders from storeroom
visually checks stock received against written requisition with storeroom personnel to ensure order accuracy
re-checks items with bartender upon delivery
cuts, slices and peels perishable garnishes and fruits
mixes and pours juices according to projected business
stores back-up refrigerated supplies in prescribed containers
checks and assists bartender in maintaining adequate bar supplies including stir sticks, napkins, and matches
transports, replaces and performs routine maintenance on heavy beer kegs
maintains cleanliness of bar area, beer lockers, refrigeration and storage areas to meet health code standards
scoops ice from ice bins and replenishes ice containers for bar usage
boxes and saves empty liquor bottles for later returns and requisitions
