Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior barback experience preferred
  • basic math skills
  • manual dexterity
  • knowledge of English
  • ability to work in confined spaces
  • ability to perform duties in temperature ranges from normal to refrigerated
  • ability to grasp, lift, and carry up to 75 pounds
  • ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to work full 8-hour shifts standing and walking
  • must obtain RBS certification within 30 days if applicable
  • must obtain California Food Handler Card within 30 days if applicable

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge of alcoholic beverage preparation and service
  • basic math skills for measuring portions
  • manual dexterity to handle glassware and equipment
  • effective communication skills in English
  • ability to work in confined spaces and varying temperatures
  • ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
  • flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • responsible beverage service (RBS) certification within 30 days if applicable
  • California Food Handler Card within 30 days if applicable

Job Duties

  • Retrieves orders from storeroom
  • visually checks stock received against written requisition with storeroom personnel to ensure order accuracy
  • re-checks items with bartender upon delivery
  • cuts, slices and peels perishable garnishes and fruits
  • mixes and pours juices according to projected business
  • stores back-up refrigerated supplies in prescribed containers
  • checks and assists bartender in maintaining adequate bar supplies including stir sticks, napkins, and matches
  • transports, replaces and performs routine maintenance on heavy beer kegs
  • maintains cleanliness of bar area, beer lockers, refrigeration and storage areas to meet health code standards
  • scoops ice from ice bins and replenishes ice containers for bar usage
  • boxes and saves empty liquor bottles for later returns and requisitions
