Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior barback or relevant hospitality experience preferred
- Basic math proficiency
- Ability to handle physical demands including lifting and standing for long periods
- Availability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, holidays
- English language proficiency
- Ability to obtain Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification and California Food Handler Card if applicable
- Must comply with health and safety regulations
- Ability to work in confined spaces and temperature-controlled environments
Job Qualifications
- Previous barback experience preferred
- Knowledge of alcoholic beverage preparation and service
- Basic mathematical skills for portion control
- Manual dexterity for handling bar tools and equipment
- Basic English communication skills
- Ability to follow written instructions and safety protocols
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in varying temperature conditions
- Must obtain Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification and California Food Handler Card within 30 days if applicable
Job Duties
- Retrieves orders from storeroom and verifies accuracy with storeroom personnel and bartenders
- Cuts, slices, and peels perishable garnishes and fruits, mixes and pours juices as needed
- Checks and assists bartender in maintaining adequate stock of supplies such as stir sticks, napkins, and matches
- Transports, replaces, and maintains heavy beer kegs
- Maintains cleanliness of bar area, beer lockers, refrigeration and storage areas to comply with health code
- Scoops and replenishes ice in service areas
- Boxes and saves empty liquor bottles for returns and requisitions
