Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior barback or relevant experience preferred
- basic knowledge of alcoholic beverages preparation
- good communication skills in English
- physical ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
- willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- must obtain RBS and Food Handler Card within 30 days
Job Qualifications
- Previous barback experience preferred
- knowledge in preparation and service of alcoholic beverages
- basic mathematical skills
- sufficient manual dexterity
- ability to understand and communicate simple instructions in English
- ability to work in confined spaces
- capable of lifting up to 75 lbs
- able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- must obtain Responsible Beverage Service and California Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire
Job Duties
- Retrieves orders from storeroom and checks stock against requisitions
- cuts, slices, and peels garnishes and fruits, mixes and pours juices
- assists bartender in maintaining supplies such as stir sticks, napkins, and matches
- transports taps and performs maintenance on beer kegs
- maintains cleanliness of bar area, beer lockers, refrigeration, and storage to meet health codes
- scoops and transports ice, replenishes ice containers
- boxes and saves empty liquor bottles for returns and requisitions
