Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcohol
  • safe server alcohol and food certification preferred
  • ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to four hours
  • ability to work in extreme temperatures such as freezers and kitchens
  • ability to lift up to 45 lbs
  • ability to push and pull carts and equipment up to 250 lbs
  • must have finger dexterity to operate office equipment
  • ability to work primarily with fingers to pick, pinch, type, and carry out substantial hand movements
  • must maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per Azul Hospitality standards
  • regular attendance and punctuality
  • ability to follow company safety and security policies

Job Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent education
  • prior hospitality or restaurant experience preferred
  • must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
  • good communication skills, verbal, written, and electronic
  • excellent leadership capability and customer relations skills
  • detail oriented with outstanding organizational and communication skills
  • basic computer skills
  • basic computational ability
  • ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers requiring patience, tact, and diplomacy
  • knowledgeable about Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, and POS
  • self-driven and able to work independently
  • strong issue resolution and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • knowledge of table and bar service
  • knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, and flavor profiles

Job Duties

  • Stocks bar items such as glassware, straws, toothpicks, napkins, garnishes, ice, towels, and cleaning supplies
  • assists with recipe batching, ice molding, liquor infusions, washing and preparing garnishes
  • ensures taps, coolers, and appliances like blenders or coffee makers are clean and in working order
  • assists bartenders with taking customer orders and processing orders in the point-of-sale system during peak hours
  • clears tables using proper methods for removing dishes, glassware, and silverware
  • cleans bar and table surfaces throughout the shift
  • wipes down chairs, railings, and other high-touch surfaces
  • removes and disposes bags from trash receptacles in and around the bar area
  • sweeps and mops in and around bar service and customer areas
  • ensures all liquor, beer, and wine products are put away safely and secured
  • may wash glassware and dishes if steward is behind
  • assists service team as necessary to meet and exceed guest expectations
  • all other duties assigned by managers and supervisors
