Job Requirements

- Prior experience in a restaurant or bar environment preferred
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Physical capability to perform moderate strength tasks including lifting, climbing and walking
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Must be dependable and punctual
- Willingness to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
- Basic math skills
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain cleanliness
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- Must consistently assess, anticipate and meet guests' needs and respond quickly without detracting from overall experience
- Must clearly communicate in a professional manner with guests, vendors, coworkers and management
- Must adapt to different personalities of guests and coworkers
- Must be a team player and establish good working relationships
- Must be able to perform various physical activities including cleaning, climbing, lifting and standing for long periods
- Must recognize problems and resolve them using good judgement, tact and initiative
- Must possess general accounting and mathematical skills and knowledge of point of sale applications
- Must correctly operate mechanical devices such as POS systems, credit card machines and mixers
- Must evaluate practices and initiate improvements for quality control
- Must be able to write and speak English effectively
- Must be flexible and occasionally work overtime
Job Duties
- Greet and interact with guests in a friendly professional manner when applicable
- Assist bartenders with all aspects of guest service
- Smile and maintain a positive attitude at all times
- Wash and sterilize glassware and other serving equipment at bars
- Prepare garnishes for drinks
- Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas
- Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to bar manager
- Maintain and stock adequate supplies of bar items such as glasses, cups, napkins, drink supplies, condiments, etc.
- Stock refrigeration units with wines, beer, replace beer kegs, etc.
- Replenish ice at bar
- Empty bar trash cans
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings
- Additional tasks as assigned
