Job Requirements

  • Passion for the People, Place and Culture of the community
  • Minimum of one year experience as a Barback
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol Servers Permit (MAST) and WA Food handler Permit within 14 days of hire
  • Ability to meet local age requirements to serve alcohol
  • Availability to work flexible schedule including mornings, weekends and holidays
  • Fluency in English, verbal and written
  • Ability to continuously stand and/or walk for the majority of a shift
  • Ability to lift and/or carry 30 lbs
  • Ability to lift, balance and carry up to 100 lbs with assistance

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Barback in a free-standing or hotel bar
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol Servers Permit (MAST) and WA Food handler Permit within 14 days of hire
  • Fluency in English, verbal and written
  • Knowledge of basic beer, wine, spirit, and cocktail terms
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Good communication skills

Job Duties

  • Uphold and model the company’s principles of People, Place and Character, driving collaboration, intuition and translocal hospitality
  • Work in an organized and clean fashion - stocking the bar, racking kegs, filling ice bins, cutting garnishes, preparing juices syrups and bases, etc. - with respect for guests, peers, equipment, and workspace
  • Participate in daily lineups and staff meetings to further develop ideas and objectives with the service team
  • Be accountable for working knowledge of the menu
  • serve alcohol safely, responsibly, and legally
  • accurately account for all monetary transactions during your shift
  • Share extensive knowledge of the beverage world with guests, enhancing guest experience and offering relevant additions
  • Demonstrate understanding of basic beer, wine, spirit, and cocktail terms and strive to know more
  • Observe conditions of all physical facilities and relay challenges to the food and beverage leadership team to make corrections and improvements
  • Assist in other areas of the Food and Beverage Department as needed
