Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must hold a current Food Handler Card
  • Knowledge of liquor regulations and responsible alcohol service
  • Basic English language writing and communication skills
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register and handle money
  • Manual dexterity for preparing garnishes and handling glassware
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to follow safety and emergency procedures
  • Ability to operate beverage equipment
  • Adherence to company policies and health standards
  • Willingness to maintain neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required
  • Customer service orientation
  • Ability to perform cleaning and stocking duties
  • Ability to report unsafe conditions or incidents promptly.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Current Food Handler Card required
  • Knowledge of State, Federal and Corporate liquor laws
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and alcoholic beverage service
  • Basic math skills for cash transactions and portion control
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to use beverage equipment
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Physical ability to lift 30 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.

Job Duties

  • Serve beverages and/or food to the guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner
  • Prepare beverages for other servers to supply to guests
  • Act as cashier for the lounge, receiving cash, making change and verifying charges
  • Greet guests courteously, promote and document drink orders
  • Mix, garnish and present drinks using standard recipes and prudent portion control
  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily including requisitioning and stocking beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, condiments and produce
  • Maintain stock, cut and store fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and perishables
  • Lock up and store all beverages, food and equipment items, deposit cash drops and secure bank
  • Answer bar phone within three rings and take room service orders correctly and courteously
  • Input orders into the point of sale system and create checks, maintaining accountability of all beverages served
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Follow safety and security procedures and rules
  • Know department fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • Utilize protective equipment
  • Report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to supervisor
  • Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
  • Perform related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
  • Assist other beverage personnel as needed
  • Ensure compliance with all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations
  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • Demonstrate knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages
  • Use basic math skills for cash register operation and transaction processing
  • Communicate effectively in English for requisitions, vouchers and customer interaction
  • Operate beverage equipment such as coffee makers
  • Transport up to 30 lbs. through crowded areas continuously during shifts
  • Lift up to 30 pounds
  • Stand and walk constantly during shifts
  • Perform frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling.
