Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Iowa Child Labor Laws
- ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
- ability to work late hours
- reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts
- ability to comply with uniform policies
- ability to refrain from on-the-job consumption of alcohol
- safety-oriented mindset and compliance with beverage preparation and serving regulations
- exceptional customer service skills with positive problem resolution
- ability to follow directions, multi-task and work independently or as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
- Bartender/Server Certified (TIPS) or willing to obtain certification within 30 days when required
- previous experience with alcoholic beverage serving and associated regulations is helpful
- exceptional customer service skills
- ability to explain menu items
- ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- ability to follow directions and multi-task
Job Duties
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner as they approach the bar
- keep the bar stocked with liquor, syrups, glasses, napkins and all other necessary items before and during service hours
- prepare garnishes, refill ice wells, change beer kegs, and restock napkins and straws
- store and stock refrigerators, ice machines, cups, straws, napkins and other service items as needed
- understand and comply with all state and local health department standards
- maintain professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards
- clean up spills, remove glassware and organize bar counters
- collaborate with managers, kitchen staff and security personnel to ensure efficient service
- assist with general maintenance in and around the bar area
- maintain knowledge of menu items and assist guests by explaining preparation
- adhere to all bar related TIPS training protocols
- sanitize and clean service areas, bar tops and surrounding areas
- assist with to-go orders between kitchen and guests
- promptly escalate maintenance issues, safety hazards or emergencies to appropriate authorities
- perform all other duties assigned by leadership
