Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Iowa Child Labor Laws
  • ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • ability to work late hours
  • reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts
  • ability to comply with uniform policies
  • ability to refrain from on-the-job consumption of alcohol
  • safety-oriented mindset and compliance with beverage preparation and serving regulations
  • exceptional customer service skills with positive problem resolution
  • ability to follow directions, multi-task and work independently or as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
  • Bartender/Server Certified (TIPS) or willing to obtain certification within 30 days when required
  • previous experience with alcoholic beverage serving and associated regulations is helpful
  • exceptional customer service skills
  • ability to explain menu items
  • ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • ability to follow directions and multi-task

Job Duties

  • Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner as they approach the bar
  • keep the bar stocked with liquor, syrups, glasses, napkins and all other necessary items before and during service hours
  • prepare garnishes, refill ice wells, change beer kegs, and restock napkins and straws
  • store and stock refrigerators, ice machines, cups, straws, napkins and other service items as needed
  • understand and comply with all state and local health department standards
  • maintain professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards
  • clean up spills, remove glassware and organize bar counters
  • collaborate with managers, kitchen staff and security personnel to ensure efficient service
  • assist with general maintenance in and around the bar area
  • maintain knowledge of menu items and assist guests by explaining preparation
  • adhere to all bar related TIPS training protocols
  • sanitize and clean service areas, bar tops and surrounding areas
  • assist with to-go orders between kitchen and guests
  • promptly escalate maintenance issues, safety hazards or emergencies to appropriate authorities
  • perform all other duties assigned by leadership
