- Ability to communicate in english, both orally and written, with guests and employees
- Ability to work as a part of a team
- Ability to understand verbal directions, as well as written menus, recipes, labels on foods and chemicals, and workplace safety signage
- Active listening and observation skills
- Knowledge of common food allergies and understanding of cross-contamination issues
- Outgoing personality, with good oral comprehension, expression, and speech clarity
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods

Job Duties
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance with a properly cleaned uniform
- Complete tasks related to setting up, stocking, replenishing, cleaning, and maintaining bar area
- Perform trash pick-up and removal from bar, bar service, and storage areas
- Greet guests warmly, politely and in a timely manner with enthusiasm
- Answer questions about beverage service and beverage menu
- Understand and comply with State of Maine regulatory responsibilities regarding service of alcoholic beverages
- Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages courteously and efficiently as directed by the bartender
- Complete required affidavits for liquor licensing
- Deliver beverages efficiently following proper service techniques
- Clear tables of drinks and dishes as required
- Clean glassware, barware, and dishes manually or mechanically
- Assist guests with beverage and food service concerns
- Collaborate with bartender, servers, and bussers to meet guest needs continually
- Understand accepted payment methods and process payments
- Report tips according to regulations
- Safely operate restaurant equipment including coffee makers, refrigeration, juice machines, ice machines, ice crusher, POS systems, and other kitchen appliances
- Handle special orders and guest complaints professionally
- Participate in banquet functions setup, execution, and cleanup
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards as required by regulatory authorities
- Notify management of broken equipment or unsafe/unsanitary conditions
- Manually handle, lift, and carry products up to 60 pounds
- Demonstrate fine bilateral hand manipulation
- Be mobile and adaptable in a limited space
- Protect the property assets of Migis Hotel Group
