Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Strong communication skills both oral and written

- Basic understanding of beverage service and customer service
- Willingness to learn and receive training for bartending and food service

- Knowledge of food safety and handling principles advantageous
- Ability to handle stressful situations with patience and tact
- Capable of following detailed verbal and written instructions
- Ability to safely operate restaurant equipment
Job Duties
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance with a properly cleaned uniform
- Responsible for completing tasks related to setting up, stocking, replenishing, cleaning, and maintaining bar area
- Responsible for trash pick-up and removal from bar, bar service, and storage areas
- Greet guests warmly, politely and in a timely manner
- Be prepared to answer questions about beverage service and beverage menu
- Understand State of Maine regulatory responsibilities regarding service of alcoholic beverages
- Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages courteously and efficiently
- Complete affidavit required by the Maine Department of Public Safety Liquor Licensing and Inspection Division
- Deliver beverages efficiently following appropriate beverage service techniques
- Clear tables of drinks and dishes as required
- Clean glassware, barware, and dishes using mechanical or manual methods
- Assist guests with beverage and/or food service concerns
- Work with Bartender, Servers, and Bussers to ensure guests' needs are continually met
- Understand all payment methods accepted and how to process payments
- Understand reporting requirements for tips
- Operate restaurant equipment safely
- Handle and communicate special orders and guest complaints professionally
- Participate in banquet functions setup, execution, and clean up
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Notify appropriate personnel of broken equipment or unsafe conditions
- Manually handle product up to 60 pounds
- Ensure bilateral fine manipulation and vertical mobility throughout shift
- Protect the assets of the property and Migis Hotel Group
