Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum six months previous bar porter experience
  • Familiarity with high volume nightclub, kitchen, bar, lounge, or restaurant environments
  • Knowledge of inventory, stock rotation, and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to communicate clearly with guests and team members
  • Understanding of liquor brands, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic selections
  • Ability to adhere to safety, health, and liquor laws
  • Positive energy and professional demeanor
  • Ability to operate two-way radio, knives, and pallet jacks
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Job Duties

  • Ensure maximum usage of supplies to attain budgeted beverage cost and prevent waste
  • Deliver orders from warehouse to bar timely
  • Anticipate guests’ needs and respond urgently
  • Assist bartenders and follow their direction
  • Empty trash regularly
  • Wash and polish glassware
  • Mop and clean floors to maintain cleanliness and safety
  • Respond to bartender needs by running for liquor, glassware, and stock
  • Perform all opening and closing duties per shift assignment
  • Bid farewell to guests and encourage return visits
  • Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures
  • Work as a team assisting guests and employees
  • Communicate effectively with management and service staff
  • Monitor cleanliness and organization of work areas
  • Report any theft, vandalism, or violations
  • Handle guest complaints with positive attitude
  • Recognize and monitor intoxicated guests and notify management
  • Comply with all liquor laws and company policies
  • Maintain bar top and back bar cleanliness
  • Complete nightly, weekly, and opening/closing duties
  • Maintain liquor, beer, wine, and consumables par levels
  • Report equipment failures and safety hazards
  • Ensure proper stock rotation
  • Clean spills immediately
  • Transport items safely for washing
  • Prepare mixes and garnishes
  • Provide timely service to model bartenders and servers
  • Assist with loading/unloading equipment
  • Present professional image adhering to company standards
  • Create and maintain service rapport
  • Adhere to uniform and appearance policies
  • Inform management of complaints and incidents
  • Perform other assigned duties
  • Assist fellow team members as needed
