Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an assistant general manager in a cocktail bar, full-service restaurant, hotel, or other food and beverage location
  • ServSafe certification
  • Food Safety Handler certification
  • Training for Intervention Procedures certification
  • Strong financial and computer skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an assistant general manager in a cocktail bar, full-service restaurant, hotel, or other food and beverage location with similar volume, capacity, and standard of service
  • Strong cocktail, spirit, and bar knowledge
  • ServSafe certification
  • Food Safety Handler certification
  • Training for Intervention Procedures certification
  • Strong financial and computer skills with experience working with and understanding P&Ls, service and labor cost budget monitoring and management
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

Job Duties

  • Manage day-to-day bar operations with a strong focus on guest satisfaction
  • Review financial statements and other performance data to measure productivity, goal achievement, and determine areas that need cost reduction and program improvement
  • Carry out administrative duties such as scheduling of team members, workforce planning, training, sales tracking, labor tracking, petty cash, deposits, inventories, ordering, account payables and receivables, and P&L accounting
  • Establish standard operating procedures for supervising, inspiring, and motivating all front-of-the-house team members
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef on standard operating procedures for the front and back of the house for food and menu specifications, food handling, food safety requirements in compliance with Health Department standards, receiving, and storage procedures
  • Monitor and control labor and operating expenses to ensure budget adherence
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a dedicated team of chefs and front-of-house staff
