Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
  • Or 2-year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field
  • 2 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal liquor laws
  • Ability to manage inventory and costs
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work full time
  • Onsite presence at JW Marriott Tampa Water Street

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years experience in food and beverage, culinary or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field with 2 years experience in food and beverage, culinary or related professional area
  • Strong knowledge of beverage policies and liquor laws
  • Experience in managing bar/lounge operations and staff supervision
  • Proficient in inventory management and cost control
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to train and lead a team effectively
  • Understanding of budgeting and financial management in hospitality
  • Ability to handle guest complaints and drive service improvement

Job Duties

  • Implement agreed upon beverage policy and procedures throughout the property
  • Manage compliance with local, state and federal beverage and liquor laws
  • Oversee beverage control including inventory, portion control, and sales analysis
  • Monitor adherence to liquor control policies and procedures
  • Attend pre- and post-convention meetings to understand group needs
  • Comprehend budgets and assist in financial management of department
  • Participate in managing controllable expenses to meet budgeted goals
  • Ensure compliance with Bar/Lounge policies, standards and food handling sanitation
  • Manage inventories according to budget and business levels
  • Assist with menu and promotion development
  • Train staff on liquor control policies and procedures
  • Supervise staffing levels for guest service and operational needs
  • Communicate event-related information to staff
  • Provide excellent customer service and handle guest feedback and complaints
  • Empower employees to deliver exceptional service
  • Focus on guest satisfaction and continuous improvement
  • Provide performance feedback to staff
  • Review guest satisfaction results with employees
  • Support orientation and new hire training
  • Participate in corrective action plan implementation
