Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or two to four years related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public
  • Knowledge of internet software, order processing systems, spreadsheet software, word processing software, and POS systems
  • California Food Handlers Certificate required
  • California Responsible Beverage Service Certificate required
  • Ability to stand, walk, talk, hear frequently
  • Ability to taste or smell frequently
  • Ability to sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception required

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of POS systems, order processing systems, internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with staff training, coaching, and team development
  • Food and beverage industry knowledge, including beverage cost control and inventory management
  • California Food Handlers Certificate
  • California Responsible Beverage Service Certificate

Job Duties

  • Satisfy guest needs and exceed expectations by projecting a positive restaurant and hotel image
  • Make decisions in line with service standards throughout each service period
  • Maintain control of beverage costs and inventory of all F&B products, durable and non-durable items
  • Communicate pertinent information to Food and Beverage Managers and staff at multiple locations
  • Check outlets to be ready for service including dining rooms readiness and engage with guests during service
  • Ensure knowledge of all menu items and sequence of service
  • Facilitate cohesive and timely communication with culinary and sales departments
  • Follow service standards in outlets and conduct necessary training
  • Ensure consistent and timely flow of the guest experience in the hotel
  • Address guest or staff complaints/questions professionally
  • Direct training of all F&B staff on operations aspects and develop the team
  • Ensure staff have adequate help and required tools
  • Refine operating standards and practices based on business conditions
  • Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards compliant with regulations
  • Establish and maintain policies and procedures for the Food and Beverage department
  • Collaborate with Sales and Culinary teams to drive business growth and stay updated on restaurant trends
  • Modify food and beverage selections in Simphony
  • Create and manage new business development through dinners and special events
  • Provide ongoing wine and liquor training
  • Schedule staff tastings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
