Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • two to four years of related experience and/or training
  • ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals and technical procedures
  • effective written and oral communication skills
  • proficiency with internet software, order processing systems, spreadsheet and word processing software, and POS systems
  • California Food Handlers Certificate
  • California Responsible Beverage Service Certificate
  • ability to stand, walk, talk, hear regularly
  • occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
  • physical agility to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • vision capabilities including close, color, peripheral, and depth perception

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or two to four years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals and technical procedures
  • ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures
  • ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
  • knowledge of internet software, order processing systems, spreadsheet software, word processing software, and POS system
  • California Food Handlers Certificate
  • California Responsible Beverage Service Certificate

Job Duties

  • Satisfying guest needs and exceeding expectations by projecting a positive restaurant and hotel image through appearance and communication
  • decision-making in line with service standards throughout service periods to ensure the best guest experience
  • maintain control of beverage costs and inventory of all food and beverage products
  • communicate pertinent information to Food and Beverage Managers and staff at multiple locations
  • check outlets for readiness including dining rooms and engage with guests during service
  • possess knowledge of all menu items and sequence of service
  • ensure communication with culinary and sales departments is cohesive and timely
  • conduct necessary training and enforce service standards in all outlets
  • ensure consistent and timely flow of guest experience
  • address guest or staff complaints and questions professionally
  • direct training and development of all food and beverage staff
  • ensure staff have adequate help and tools to perform their job
  • refine operating standards and practices based on business conditions
  • focus on service, customer satisfaction, and profitability
  • maintain quality and consistency of guest experience
  • apply creative cost control and revenue generating solutions
  • carry out detailed written or oral instructions
  • perform basic mathematical calculations
  • ensure sanitation and cleanliness standards comply with regulations
  • establish and maintain policies and procedures for the Food and Beverage Department
  • collaborate with Sales and Culinary teams to drive experience and sales growth
  • update food and beverage selections in Simphony
  • develop new business through dinners and special events
  • provide ongoing wine and liquor training
  • schedule staff tastings
  • perform other assigned duties
