Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • at least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
  • previous supervisory responsibility
  • knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques
  • knowledge of health department rules and regulations
  • knowledge of liquor laws and regulations
  • ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • ability to listen to and clarify concerns
  • ability to multitask and prioritize
  • attend required meetings and trainings
  • maintain regular attendance
  • adhere to Highgate Hotel standards and regulations
  • maintain confidentiality
  • ability to handle problems proactively
  • physical ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • maintain high standards of personal appearance
  • courteous and service-oriented manner at all times

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • high school diploma required
  • college coursework in related field helpful
  • previous supervisory responsibility required
  • knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques
  • knowledge of health department rules and regulations
  • knowledge of liquor laws and regulations
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • ability to understand and evaluate complex information
  • maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and supervise all aspects of bar operations and beverage outlets
  • maintain profitable operations with high-quality products and service levels
  • market ideas to promote business
  • reduce employee turnover
  • maintain revenue and payroll budgets
  • meet budgeted productivity targets
  • uphold Highgate Hotel standards and services
  • attend all required meetings and trainings
  • participate in management on duty coverage as required
  • handle problems including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving issues
  • maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • perform other duties as assigned by management
  • maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
