Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • 2 years bartending experience within a full-service environment preferred
  • Cash-handling experience beneficial
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged hours
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to pass a Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness Exam within 30 days of employment
  • Must follow all state laws and license restrictions governing the sale and service of alcoholic beverages
  • Ability to work in loud environments and confined spaces
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • 2 years bartending experience within a full-service environment preferred
  • Cash-handling experience beneficial
  • Fun, dynamic, and friendly personality
  • Excellent communication, listening, and motivational skills
  • Hospitable nature with a desire to give service of the highest possible level
  • Able to work in areas with loud noises and confined spaces
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and special events
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged hours and interact with guests and employees in a fast-paced, multitask environment in variable temperatures and weather conditions
  • Must be able to pass a Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness Exam within 30-days of employment

Job Duties

  • Adopts an enthusiastic, assertive, and passionate approach to guest service and demonstrates the Merlin values at every opportunity
  • Helps develop and lead revenue generating initiatives and programs in conjunction with leadership team
  • May be responsible for taking, placing, and serving orders in a section or multiple sections
  • Operates a POS ordering system, stays up to date with restaurant information such as operating hours and pricing, and takes full responsibility for all tips handled as outlined in the Gateway tip policy
  • Must understand and meet all guest expectations and be able to effectively communicate and provide services to guests in a friendly, efficient, and courteous manner
  • Assists in set-up and tear-down of tables and service stations within the front and back of house
  • Must follow all state laws and license restrictions governing the sale and service of alcoholic beverages
  • Responsibility to ensure compliance of health, safety and security within the workplace, including COVID-19 policies, practices, and regulations
