- previous hospitality industry experience in a similar position
- certification in alcohol awareness program
- certifications in liquor, wine and food service training
- knowledge of proper chemical handling

- ability to use property management systems, computers and point of sales systems
- previous guest relations training
- certification in CPR.
Job Duties
- maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards
- maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment
- anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests
- maintain positive guest relations at all times
- be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
- resolve guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction
- monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
- maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, wines and non-alcoholic selections
- maintain knowledge of the characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list
- comply with state liquor regulations prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving
- maintain knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation and menus
- complete opening side duties including checking bar stock and supplies using consumption report, completing opening inventory sheet, requisitioning supplies, transporting supplies to designated bars, stocking ice, glassware, paper supplies, and setting up bottles in display cabinet and speed rail
- check temperature of refrigeration units and glass wash machine
- prepare bowls of bar snacks
- inspect cleanliness and condition of bar and service areas and rectify deficiencies
- assist bartender in preparing garnishes and mixes
- replenish supplies throughout shift
- restock ice
- answer phones following Peabody Service Excellence practices
- transport soiled wares to dishwashing area
- extend courteous salutations and invite guests to return
- clean and sanitize glassware in glass machine
- ensure maximum usage of supplies to meet budgeted beverage cost and prevent waste
- use all chemicals according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements
- complete closing side duties including properly storing reusable goods, emptying and draining ice bin, scrubbing sink, cleaning and wiping bar top and tables, securing all liquors, wiping down bottles and surfaces, cleaning bar equipment and tools, removing trash, sweeping and mopping floors behind bar and service areas
- obtain certification of TIPS training within 60 days of employment.
