Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one plus years of experience as a barback in a high volume, upscale hotel or free standing lounge environment
- ability to stand, stoop, bend repetitively during entire shift
- ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds repetitively
- certifications such as Certified Food Service Manager and TIPS or equivalent
- flexible schedule availability including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of wine and spirits and food
- polite, friendly and helpful to guests, management and fellow employees
- exceptional guest service skills
- ability to stand, stoop, bend and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds repetitively
- certifications including Certified Food Service Manager, TIPS or equivalent
- effective leadership, management, organizational and communication skills
- ability to speak, read and write English
- ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Assure that all bars are kept in proper working condition
- provide all supplies needed for bar prior and during functions as per Beverage Supervisor and Captain requests
- restock beverages after all functions
- support bartenders and beverage servers by stocking service areas and maintaining supplies
- clean and stock all glassware
- assist with beverage service
- transport food trays to/from dining room
- assist in cleaning all public areas
- participate in monthly inventory
- stock and maintain supplies in all service areas
- inspect and prepare all service ware prior to use
- assist servers by removing soiled glasses and plates during heavy volume
- maintain cleanliness and sanitary condition of lounge and service areas
- assist in post-shift cleanup and side work duties
- maintain clean and organized storage space
- maintain regular attendance
- work varying schedules as needed
- attend training sessions and meetings
- promote teamwork skills
- notify appropriate personnel of problems
- greet guests politely and professionally
- maintain current knowledge of beverages and cocktail recipes
- prepare mixers and garnishes
- set up bar service area
- monitor guest consumption to ensure safety
- perform closing duties including securing inventory
- record guest orders accurately
- inventory all beverages and supplies
- order replacements as needed
- comply with hotel uniform and grooming standards
- perform other related duties as assigned
