Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One plus years of experience as a barback in a high volume, upscale hotel or free standing lounge environments
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend repetitively during entire shift
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds repetitively during entire shift
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Effective communication skills
  • Certification in food service management or equivalent

Job Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of wine and spirits
  • Polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management, and fellow employees
  • Exceptional guest service skills
  • Certifications such as Certified Food Service Manager or TIPS
  • Effective leadership, management, organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Provide support to bartender and beverage server by stocking service areas and maintaining supplies
  • Participate in monthly inventory
  • Stock and maintain supplies in all service areas
  • Inspect and prepare service ware prior to use
  • Assist server with removing soiled glasses and plates during heavy volume
  • Clean and stock glassware
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitary condition of lounge and service areas
  • Assist in post shift clean up and side work duties
  • Maintain clean and organized storage space
  • Attend all training sessions and meetings as required
  • Promote teamwork and notify appropriate individuals of any problems
  • Greet guests politely and professionally
  • Prepare mixers and garnishes
  • Set up bar service area with necessary supplies prior to service
  • Monitor guest consumption to ensure safety
  • Record guest orders accurately
  • Perform closing duties and secure inventory
  • Notify supervisors of any issues promptly
  • Comply with hotel uniform and grooming standards
