Job Requirements
- Report to work at the scheduled time
- maintain neat and clean appearance as per company standards
- maintain calm and professional composure during busy or stressful situations
- knowledge of Bar and Lounge outlet standards and procedures
- demonstrate exceptional attention to detail
- possess excellent communication skills
- anticipate guest needs and respond appropriately
- perform tasks within a given time frame
- work with minimal supervision
- manage waitlist and reservations
- ensure cleanliness and safety of the work area
- attend required meetings and training
- ability to stand and walk continuously for a minimum of 8 hours
- lift and carry up to 15 lbs over the course of a shift
- bend, kneel, push and pull during shift
- communicate effectively in English
- work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- operate Bar and Lounge equipment
Job Qualifications
- High school or equivalent education
- minimum of 1-2 years of customer service experience
- restaurant or hotel experience preferred
- ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits
Job Duties
- Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and dressed in accordance with The Umstead Hotel and Spa appearance standards
- proactively welcome, greet, seat, manage waitlist and bid fond farewell to all Bar and Lounge guests in accordance with The Umstead Hotel and Spa standards
- maintain calm, professional composure during busy or stressful situations
- have knowledge of all Bar and Lounge outlet standards and operating procedures as it relates to the Host position
- demonstrate exceptional attention to detail
- communicate effectively with guests to understand needs such as special occasions or dietary requirements
- anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and respond urgently and appropriately to concerns and requests
- consistently perform tasks within a given time frame to ensure timely service execution
- perform assigned duties with little direct supervision
- manage administrative duties including waitlist management, taking reservations, generating reports and printing menus
- ensure proper care, security, and maintenance of hotel equipment
- maintain the back of the house cleanliness and safety
- attend daily pre-shift and quarterly department meetings
- participate in all required training as directed by management
- assist with clearing and resetting tables as needed
- comply with The Umstead Hotel & Spa vision and values
- work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers, supervisors, and other hotel departments
- undertake other duties as required by hotel management
