Job Requirements
- At least high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years culinary experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen
- Previous kitchen supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to lead and motivate a culinary team
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Proficient in batch and quantity cooking
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs, push/pull up to 50 lbs, and stand for long periods
- Comfortable with repetitive motions and occasional bending, stooping, kneeling
- Must maintain professional appearance
- Commitment to teamwork and quality
- Self-motivated with limited supervision abilities
Job Qualifications
- At least 2 years culinary experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen
- Previous kitchen supervisory experience preferred
- Proven culinary skills and ability to lead, develop, and motivate staff
- Ability to teach employees how to interact with internal and external guests and handle requests courteously
- Knowledge of health standards and ensure they are consistently maintained
- Familiarity with batch and quantity cooking in a high-volume restaurant
- Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
- Creativity and awareness of new food trends
- Basic mathematical skills and ability to adhere to recipes
- Ability to train culinary staff effectively
- Self-motivated with ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to write and perform daily prep lists and par sheets
- Knowledge of sanitation standards
- Good eye/hand coordination for kitchen equipment use
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Culinary degree and/or formal training preferred
- Maintains professional business appearance and attitude
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Utilize a hands-on approach to training and developing kitchen staff
- Ability to instill safety and sanitation habits in all employees
- Teach employees the importance of consistency in preparation and presentation
- Thorough knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques
- Ensure the level of quality, portion control, and plate presentation is adhered to consistently
- Supervise daily food preparation for assigned areas
- Prep, stock, and rotate line to ensure ample supply of products is maintained
