Job Qualifications

  • Hotel experience and thorough understanding of all levels of banquet service
  • previous experience as event services manager, assistant, event services captain, or event services supervisor preferred
  • refined verbal and written communication skills
  • proficient in general computer knowledge
  • extremely creative, innovative, detail oriented, and organized
  • strong leadership skills including motivation, training, and customer service excellence
  • ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Support and manage the events department while collaborating with the Food and Beverage Director and other hotel departments
  • supervise, empower, lead, coach, and motivate the banquet team including captains, food servers, and lead house attendants
  • review banquet event orders to ensure thorough communication and understanding with guests and departments
  • coordinate the setup and execution of all functions and meetings maintaining standards of food, beverage, and event specifications
  • proactively evaluate staffing and equipment needs
  • coordinate with culinary, stewarding, catering, customer service, and beverage teams to ensure event success
  • maintain a high energy, positive, professional appearance
  • develop innovative and creative decor for banquet function spaces
  • manage short and long term banquet functions in front and back of house
  • implement highest standards of quality service through effective hiring, training, development, promotion, and reinforcement
  • handle administrative tasks including payroll, reports, forecasts, point of sale procedures, inventory, and budget management
  • conduct daily walk-throughs of banquet department and function spaces to ensure compliance with health regulations and corporate standards
  • develop ideas for special events and holiday functions
