Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum two years of experience in event management, food and beverage, or related field
  • Previous banquet experience required
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate event timings
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and sanitation standards
  • Experience managing financial and administrative tasks
  • Ability to handle guest complaints professionally
  • Willingness to participate actively in event service

  • Ability to plan and conduct training sessions
  • Competence in scheduling and resource management
  • Problem-solving skills related to guest complaints and service issues
  • Knowledge of current event trends and food and wine pairings

Job Duties

  • Direct and motivate banquet team while assisting in providing high quality service
  • Monitor and control financial and administrative responsibilities including asset protection
  • Provide clear and concise communications to all stakeholders involved in event success
  • Identify training opportunities and plan strategies to meet departmental goals
  • Project supply needs for banquet operations including china, glass, silver, and props
  • Apply knowledge of relevant laws related to event management
  • Manage banquet operations to maximize customer satisfaction and adhere to all standards and policies
  • Maintain sanitation levels and manage departmental inventories and equipment
  • Control liquor costs and manage banquet beverage inventories
  • Schedule banquet service staff to meet forecast and service standards
  • Develop lasting relationships with groups to retain business and foster growth
  • Set goals, delegate tasks, and conduct monthly department meetings
  • Lead banquet shifts and actively participate in event servicing
  • Act as liaison to kitchen staff
  • Set a positive example for guest relations and handle feedback and complaints
  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service and ensure they understand expectations
  • Strive to improve service performance continuously
  • Review guest satisfaction results and implement corrective action plans
  • Communicate and execute emergency procedures and safety training
  • Observe employee service behaviors and provide feedback
  • Participate in performance discussions and corrective action plans
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings
