Job Requirements

  • Minimum age 18 years to serve alcoholic beverages to guests
  • must be able to work on site due to daily job needs
  • capable of working consecutive hours without sitting
  • must be able to stand for entire shift while reaching, bending, and stooping
  • ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • effective communication with guests and teammates in person and via phone

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate
  • some college preferred
  • banquet serving experience required
  • past banquet captain and supervisory experience preferred
  • previous culinary training preferred
  • ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • good to excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written
  • certification of alcohol awareness program preferred
  • training in food, wine, and liquor service preferred

Job Duties

  • Lead assigned events as acting banquet captain
  • conduct pre-shift meetings and manage service standards
  • direct room sets, resets, and breakdowns
  • coordinate in real time with culinary, sales, and AV teams
  • ensure timing, flow, and guest satisfaction
  • assist with staffing plans and labor controls
  • monitor service charge allocations and payroll accuracy
  • support multi-room programs and large-scale buyouts
  • coach banquet staff and reinforce standards
  • review contracts and operational requirements
  • assist in drafting and revising BEOs
  • participate in planning meetings with sales and clients
  • confirm guarantees and final details
  • support billing reconciliation and event close-out
  • all other duties as assigned
