Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of professional pastry experience
  • Knowledge of classic and contemporary pastry techniques
  • Ability to read and convert recipes accurately
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of professional pastry experience, preferably in a fine dining or luxury hotel setting
  • Strong understanding of classic and contemporary pastry techniques
  • Ability to read and convert recipes accurately
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (ServSafe certification preferred)
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Culinary or Pastry Arts degree preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Prepare, bake, and finish a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, tarts, breads, and specialty items
  • Follow standard recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the Pastry Chef
  • Assist in developing and testing new pastry items for menus or special events
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry area, including equipment and tools
  • Ensure all food is prepared and stored following proper food safety and sanitation standards
  • Monitor product quality and consistency
  • report any issues or shortages to the Pastry Chef
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior pastry cooks or interns as directed
  • Operate mixers, ovens, sheeters, and other pastry equipment safely and efficiently
  • Contribute ideas for seasonal and event-specific desserts or displays
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastry Chef or Executive Chef
