Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
  • Any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position
  • Possession of a Liquor Commission Card
  • Ability to exert physical effort to grasp, lift, move or carry a minimum of 75 lbs
  • Ability to move heavy equipment such as baby grand pianos, lecterns, and large banquet tents
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders
  • Able to maintain strong close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, talk and hear
  • Willingness to work in indoor air-conditioned and outdoor non-air-conditioned environments
  • Ability to tolerate variable temperature, weather conditions, noise levels, and exposure to fumes, dust, chemicals, and odors

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
  • Ability to anticipate guest needs and respond promptly
  • Familiarity with all hotel services and features to respond to guest inquiries accurately
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task
  • Knowledgeable of banquet function set-ups and banquet table inventories including classroom, rounds, ovals, dance floors, and tent set-up

Job Duties

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment
  • Anticipate guests’ need, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work area
  • Follow through with all directives and tasks assigned by supervisors above and Catering Sales Staff
  • Know the location of all Banquet facilities, Function rooms, storage, and kitchen areas
  • Be knowledgeable in the measurements of all Banquet function rooms, banquet table sizes, chairs, lecterns, pianos, tents, and lecterns function signboards
  • Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all the equipment
  • Know the inventory and location of their supplies, materials, and equipment to ensure efficient retrieval for functions
  • Read, understand and execute complete function room setups based on Banquet Event Orders
  • Be familiar with various meal period sets and meeting setups including buffets, bars, beverage stations, cooking stations, carving stations, classroom, theater, and chevron seating
  • Ability to set up gazebos and white chairs for wedding ceremonies
  • Perform all other duties as may be required or assigned
