Job Requirements

  • Any combination of education and experience providing necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet minimum qualifications
  • Liquor Commission Card
  • Ability to anticipate guest needs and respond promptly

  • Ability to exert physical effort to lift, move or carry a minimum of 75 lbs
  • Ability to move heavy equipment such as Baby Grand piano, lecterns, banquet tents

  • Strong vision and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands, talk, and hear
  • Willing to work in indoor air-conditioned and outdoor non-air-conditioned environments
  • Ability to work in variable temperature, weather, noise, and exposure to fumes, dust, chemicals, and odors

  • Familiarity with all hotel services and features to respond to guest inquiries accurately
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
  • Knowledge of various banquet function setups and banquet table inventories including classroom, rounds, ovals, dance floors, and tent setups

Job Duties

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment and use equipment only as intended
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests regardless of time or busyness
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times
  • Resolve guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
  • Follow through with all directives and tasks assigned by supervisors and Catering Sales Staff
  • Know the location of all banquet facilities, function rooms, storage, and kitchen areas
  • Be knowledgeable in measurements of all banquet function rooms, tables, chairs, lecterns, pianos, tents, and function signboards
  • Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of all equipment
  • Know inventory and location of supplies, materials, and equipment to retrieve items efficiently for functions
  • Read, understand, and execute function room setups based on Banquet Event Orders
  • Be familiar with various meal period sets and meeting setups including buffets, bars, beverage stations, cooking stations, carving stations, classroom, theater, and chevron seating
  • Ability to set up gazebos and white chairs for wedding ceremonies
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or required
