Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one year of customer service experience
- minimum two years of banquet server experience in an upscale hotel
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
- availability to work full-time flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
- ability to stand, walk and move continuously during shifts
- adherence to grooming and appearance standards
- strong communication skills
- ability to adapt to changing environments and multitask effectively
- punctuality and dependability
- willingness to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks
- capable of working in moderate noise environments indoors
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum one year of customer service experience
- at least two years of banquet server experience in an upscale hotel
- ability to effectively interact and communicate with diverse populations
- proficient in reading, writing, and comprehending simple instructions and correspondence
- basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- sound reasoning skills to follow detailed instructions and solve standard problems
- strong customer service orientation
- ability to work well in team settings
- effective oral and written communication skills
- ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
- knowledge of safety and sanitation standards
Job Duties
- Review banquet event orders at the beginning of each shift to ensure rooms are set as contracted
- confirm and setup A/V equipment needs for the event
- prepare rooms for use including adjusting lights, sound volumes and temperature
- assist in ensuring events start on time and communicate adjustments to co-associates
- pass information to the next team member on duty
- ensure proper use, storage and maintenance of A/V and meeting room equipment
- maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in banquet areas
- communicate guest concerns to director of banquet or banquet supervisor
- prepare rooms in readiness for site inspections if no upcoming events
- reset meeting rooms for next event if within one day
- provide guests with a lasting experience to encourage return business
- maintain proper dining experience including delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils and refilling glasses
- deliver alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
- open and pour wine at tableside
- perform basic cleaning tasks
- greet guests warmly with appropriate greetings
- adhere to grooming and appearance standards
- understand and communicate products and services available at the hotel
- other duties as assigned
