Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior banquet or food service experience preferred
- Ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, push, or pull heavy equipment and stand for extended periods
- Ability to transport up to 30 pounds through crowded rooms continuously
- Must maintain professional appearance and manner
- Willingness to assist co-workers and be a team player
- Availability to work variable and seasonal hours
- Ability to follow alcohol service regulations
- Ability to adhere to uniform and identification badge policy
- Commitment to company values and guest service philosophy
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in banquet or food service preferred
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
- Ability to comprehend and follow instructions from supervisor
- Self-starting personality with a professional appearance and manner
- Ability to perform repetitive motions and lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
Job Duties
- Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars including guests and hotel expectations
- Set up all banquet functions such as table linens, silverware, glassware, and centerpieces
- Set up waiting and beverage stations
- Set up all perishable items for banquet service such as bread, butter, and cream
- Serve all food and beverages to banquet guests and replenish beverages as necessary
- Clear away all dishes and items used in the service of a banquet including the linens
- Ensure proper storage of all items from equipment to perishable foods
- Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly fashion
- Prepare for future banquets by folding napkins, filling condiments, and performing other duties as required
- Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner
- Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
- Reset banquet room according to Supervisors' specifications to ensure readiness for the next function
- Always be in uniform including wearing name identification badge
- Support and adhere to the core values, mission statement, service fundamentals, and guest service philosophy
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs
