Job Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Prior banquet set-up or hospitality experience preferred
- Supervisory and organizational skills required
- Ability to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 100lbs
- Ability to stand and move throughout continuously during shift
- Hearing and visual acuity to detect emergency situations
- Professional and courteous demeanor
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma required, advanced degree in hospitality related field preferred
- Prior banquet set-up, hospitality and/or supervisory experience preferred
- Supervisory and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task quickly and efficiently
- Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner
- Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 100lbs
- Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations
- Professional and well-groomed appearance
Job Duties
- Maintain condition and cleanliness of work area, equipment and storage
- Complete visual inspection and maintenance of banquet and meeting space and condition of equipment
- Supervise and train staff in the set up and break down of assigned banquet rooms according to Banquet Event Order (BEO) and manager's instructions
- Communicate frequently with supervisors and managers and communicate frequently with guest contacts in order to ensure that their needs are being met
- Follow all Marcus Hotels and Resorts policies and procedures, Marriott Standards, and Information Protection procedures
- Administer discipline as needed at a supervisory level and ensure disciplinary procedures are followed
- Attend all scheduled mandatory Banquet Department meetings, trainings and hotel meetings
- Perform all other related duties and special projects as requested and/or assigned
