Job Duties

  • Sets up for events carries trays serves guests and cleans up at the event's conclusion
  • set up includes putting out tablecloths and place settings arranging table placement and putting up a buffet
  • clean up includes breaking down tables and taking tablecloths and linens to laundry
  • inspects linen silver china and other items prior to using them
  • demonstrates in-depth knowledge of menu market specials and suggest alternatives to guests
  • takes and fills customer orders
  • checks food prior to serving ensures presentation and temperature is in accordance with company standards
  • coordinates service with other servers
  • serves food and beverages to guests refills beverages as needed
  • responds to customer requests and complaints in a timely and courteous manner
  • uses a computer to ring orders on a check
  • accepts different types of payment and makes accurate change
  • checks for identification of guests to ensure guests are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages
  • refuses to serve beverages in a polite manner to guests who are not of legal age
  • observes behavior counts number of alcoholic drinks served and ask a manager to intervene as necessary
  • completes other tasks and duties as assigned based on business needs
